Pattaya Hosts the 2nd World Youth Tchoukball Championships 2025 , international beach sports event – the 2nd World Youth Tchoukball Championships 2025! If you’ve never heard of tchoukball before, you’re not alone—but trust us, it’s a fast-paced, exciting game you’ll want to see in action. With athletes from 7 countries, gorgeous Jomtien Beach as the backdrop, and a strong community vibe, this event is about more than just sports—it’s about connection, culture, and showcasing Pattaya on a global stage.
The opening ceremony, held at 6:00 PM on August 27, 2025, was led by Mr. Krisana Boonsawat, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya. Also in attendance were Mr. HUANG, Chin-Cheng, President of the Asian Tchoukball Federation, and Mr. Sithidej Phanthasen, President of the Thailand Tchoukball Association, along with several tourism and sports officials. The event kicked off right on Jomtien Beach, in front of The Now Hotel, where teams from across Asia and Europe gathered in high spirits.
Organized by the Pattaya City Administration, in collaboration with the Asian Tchoukball Federation and the Thailand Tchoukball Association, this international championship runs from August 27–30, 2025, and is divided into 3 age categories: Under 12, Under 15, and Under 18, with both boys’ and girls’ divisions. Over 4,000 participants, including athletes, coaches, and supporters, are taking part, representing Taipei, Laos, Hong Kong SAR, Czechia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Besides bringing people together through sport, the event has a bigger mission—boosting local tourism and the economy, while reinforcing Pattaya’s image as a true Sports City and a hotspot for Sports Tourism. It’s a chance to show the world that Pattaya isn’t just about nightlife and beaches—it’s also a destination that’s ready and equipped to host international sporting events.
Speaking about the occasion, Deputy Mayor Krisana Boonsawat shared his pride in having Pattaya selected as the host city. He emphasized that events like this not only promote tourism and economic growth but also strengthen Pattaya’s reputation as a city that supports youth development, international cooperation, and healthy lifestyles through sports.
The championship continues through Saturday, August 30, and the best part? Admission is free!
