From Pattaya to Guangzhou — A Proud Moment for Thailand
Chonburi – Say hello to our rising stars: Miss Waranya Ketchan, Miss Phutsanisa Saengdee, and Miss Tiwaporn Tosong, all grade 12 students from Pattaya City School 11 (Mueang Pattaya Demonstration School). These three were carefully selected to represent Thailand at the “Southern China Creative Tech Camp 2025,” held at Jinan University in Guangzhou, China, from July 9th to 18th.
This wasn’t just any camp — it was a platform that brought together talented youth from across Asia, including Hong Kong, Macau, and other nations. The goal? To boost global youth potential through intensive workshops in tech, innovation, and cultural exchange.
The Road to Selection
The trio stood out thanks to their strong background in Chinese language, having passed at least level 2 on the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) — a standardized test for Chinese proficiency. Their participation was supported and coordinated by the Confucius Institute at Suan Dusit University, ensuring they met both the linguistic and academic standards needed to thrive in this international setting.
10 Days of Tech, Culture & Discovery
During the 10-day camp, the students got hands-on with everything from Chinese calligraphy and local cuisine, to traditional opera dance and the famous dragon boat paddling. More than just cultural activities, they joined workshops in innovative tech and daily life Mandarin — sharpening both hard and soft skills along the way.
They also visited cultural landmarks in Guangzhou and collaborated with youth from other countries in Asia — a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build connections, understanding, and future potential.
Teacher Support That Matters
Accompanying the students throughout their journey was Ms. Techinee Wittayapreesakul, the project’s dedicated teacher, who played a crucial role in guiding and supporting them every step of the way.
This amazing experience not only reflects the rising potential of Thai students on the global scene but also puts Pattaya on the map as a city that fosters talent, supports education, and believes in its youth. Big congrats to Waranya, Phutsanisa, and Tiwaporn — you’ve made your hometown proud!
