The 3rd Pattaya Film Festival has wrapped up, but the excitement in Pattaya is far from over! Now the spotlight turns to the court with the official kickoff of the 22nd Pattaya Sepak Takraw Cup — and it’s already heating up!
Hosted by Pattaya City, the tournament opened in style at the Gymnasium of Pattaya City School 7 (Ban Nong Phang Khae), bringing together athletes, officials, and fans for four days of thrilling matches. This isn’t just a sports event — it’s a celebration of teamwork, health, and community, all while highlighting Pattaya as a leading Sports City.
🎉 The opening ceremony featured Mr. Phaiwan Aromchuen, Vice President of the Pattaya City Council, as the guest of honor. Mr. Wisitsak Wongworachart, Director of Tourism Development, gave the opening report, with key figures from the Pattaya City Council, school leadership, referees from the Sepak Takraw Association of Thailand, and sports tourism officials all in attendance.
Running from August 28 to 31, 2025, the tournament aims to promote physical fitness, encourage friendly competition, and provide valuable experience for local and national athletes alike. Best of all? 93 teams from across Thailand have joined the competition, battling it out for a total prize pool of 190,000 baht, along with prestigious trophies presented by the Mayor of Pattaya. 🏆
The tournament includes five categories:
- Local residents (Banglamung District only)
- Men’s open division
- Women’s open division
- Men’s 40+ division
- Men’s senior division (50+)
Final matches and the awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 31, starting from 9:00 AM, with the official closing ceremony scheduled for 3:00 PM at the same venue.
